GARMIN Oregon 600/600t/650/650t Firmware Upgrades |
The following lists of changes are based on information provided by GARMIN. Changes or improvements which we consider important or especially useful are shown highlighted.
To view the current firmware version, complete the following steps:
- Turn on the GPS.
- Open the application drawer.
- Touch "Setup".
- Scroll down to the very end of the list.
- Touch "About".
- The system will display the firmware version at the very top ("Software Version"), the unit ID on the second line, followed by various copyright information.
- Touch "Back" to return to the previous page.
Each upgrade replaces the complete firmware in the GPS, which means you need to install only the version you wish to apply. There is no need to install any previous versions.
Changes made from version 5.10 to 5.30:

- Improved 'Save Portion' track feature. When saving a portion, the device now remembers that position in the track log so it can be used as a track segment for future portion saving.

- Fixed issue with geocache ratings when using the 'Next Stage' feature for multicaches.
- Fixed display of certain map names when viewing the list of maps loaded on the device.
- Fixed inconsistent exponent formats in the Calculator application.

Changes made from version 2.90 to 3.10:
- Added support for VIRB Remote. In the Main Menu touch "Setup", then "Main Menu", at the screen where you want to add the application touch the plus sign ("Add Item Here"), touch "Applications" and add the application "VIRB Remote". See TrailTech Software Update,

- Improved 3-axis compass performance.
- Improved guidance text on the map when using certain maps.
- Fixed an issue with the geocaching quick filter in languages other than English.
- Fixed a possibility of certain geocaches not appearing on the map immediately after turning on the device.
